About Jake Ziegler
Hi everyone! Welcome to my site. Let me introduce myself:
I was born and raised in southern New Hampshire and I lived in Hamden, Connecticut to finish up the last two years of college. Speaking of which, I graduated from Quinnipiac University with my bachelor's in journalism in May 2020. I also graduated with my master's in sports journalism in May 2021.
I relocated to Houston, Texas in October 2025 to pursue a career opportunity for a business that ultimately didn't work out for me. So currently, I'm seeking opportunities to get back into the journalism industry in radio, television or print/digital media in the Greater Houston market.
In the past, I worked in the print industry as the sports editor at Mohave Valley Daily News, where I wrote sports articles and built/designed newspaper pages for its sports section. On the broadcast side, I worked as an on-air talent / multimedia producer for New Media Broadcasters, where I produced local newscasts, sportscasts, weather reports, road reports and other audio content that broadcast on the airwaves of KOJM, KPQX & KRYK.
Additionally, I hosted a one-hour, live, rock music show on WQAQ 98.1 FM during the spring 2021 semester at Quinnipiac. I've also hosted many live NFL talk shows on that platform, as well. I've worked as a camera operator for several Quinnipiac hockey and basketball games that were broadcast on the airwaves of ESPN 3 and ESPN+. And for two-straight seasons, I was the play-by-play broadcaster for the CT RoughRiders, a junior hockey team affiliated with the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).
In my free time, I like to watch football and hockey and play all kinds of sports. I'm also a huge fan of the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots. When I'm away from sports, I enjoy working out, listening to rock music, playing card games, playing video games, binge watching random social media videos, driving, and socializing with all kinds of people.
Feel free to take a look at my body of journalistic work and resume! I always welcome any questions, comments, or feedback about any of its content.
Thanks for visiting!
